ICSC Explores Quality Guidelines for Internet Content
The Internet Content Syndication Council, headquartered in NYC, is circulating a document to find out if members are interested in creating public quality guidelines for Internet content, or perhaps, an accreditation process for syndicated content.
According to Adweek, some in the organization believe the quality of web content has been cheapened by alleged "content mills" like Demand Media and Associated Content, which use low-paid freelancers, yet use link-based search strategies so their articles score high on search engines, squeezing out professionally created, high-quality articles.
