NYC's Open Data to Drive Growth in 2010?

In an interview with The Business Insider, Steve Rosenbaum, founder and CEO of Magnify.net,  spoke about the impact government will have on technology in 2010.  Specifically, Rosenbaum predicts that Mayor Bloomberg's government data transparency initiative will bring new opportunities to both the private and public sector in the city.

A recent example mentioned in the article is the NYC BigApps competition, which recently opened up 170 data sets to software developers to create applications that can serve a variety of city needs.
