Comprehensive MLS Coming to NYC
A complete Multiple Listings Service (MLS), which details properties on the market, is now a possibility for New York City. A 2008 settlement between the federal Department of Justice and the
National Association of Realtors made the Real Estate Board of New York share all of its members' listings directly with online
brokerages known as Virtual Office Web sites or VOWs. This move is paving the way for a comprehensive online listing of NYC properties.
Manhattan's first VOW is WCBSTV.com and LMG Digital Media's CBS2REM.com. The site launched in August. It shows a detailed map of the New York and allows users to click on a neighborhood and scroll through sale and rental listings.
