The Media 2020 plan is great as is--and it appears to ignore television opportunities amid those opportunities taking shape. People out there want to launch new TV networks, new independent production companies, new high-definition and 3D television content, and new interactive/Internet TV services. The city should not be ignoring these TV tea leaves as it pursues more digital media jobs. New television ventures can be great job/revenue creators for NYC and Media 2020 should pursue them with the same vigor as digital media, radio, print and other directions.
