Mashable Party Spills Over Into Carriage House
Apparently, the 212 Bar & Restaurant, located in Manhattan's Midtown neighborhood, was less than accommodating to the more than 400 guests who RSVPed and tried to attend last night's New Year's networking event held there. The restaurant booked a dinner party in its upstairs dining room, forcing social-networking news Web site Mashable's guests to cram into the first-floor bar.
Although a friendly group, a number of guests took Arc90 up on their offer of a free drink at a less-crowded venue and walked a few blocks south through the chilly streets to Carriage House. [We were, in fact, stopped on the street by MediaPost's Kelly Samardak and Qwikker's Gail Hilton and told to head straight there to avoid the crowd.] A flurry of Twitter SOS messages soon followed and a number of those who had braved the packed party stopped by before heading off to TechKaraoke at iBop in Koreatown. Mid-way through the spillover party, Mashable's Adam Hirsch stopped by to offer the exiles a free shot for their troubles.

.
Yes, many thanks to Arc90 for the rescue.

Many thanks to all who were brave enough to follow us down Lexington Ave in the cold... it was a great party!

The look on your face was priceless. Fear and irritation then recognition all at once.

Missed so many people at this squeezefest! Wish I had gotten messages and I would have swung by the Carriage House on the way back to Penn Station. Sounds like it was fun!
I bet 212 gets no repeat business on their double booking. That stinks!
