Startups Present at Gallery Bar
We stopped by Web2NewYork's meetup at the Gallery Bar on the Lower East Side Tuesday night and caught presentations by Parnell Pierre-Louis, mDialog, Emily Gannett and Roger Wu, KlickableTV, and David Reinke, StyleHop.
Each offers to improve existing Web-based services. mDialog makes it easier to upload video content, offering its own iPhone application that Pierre-Louis noted works best on AT&T's 3G network or wi-fi. KlickableTV allows you to add tags to video and has been working with Rachel Ray's show on tagged online content for that program, highlighting products and even Ray's clothes. Reinke's Stylehop, meanwhile, focuses on making it easier for users to share information about fashion, pointing out that you more readily take advice from friends that from anyone else.
While there, we also bumped into Nellywn Thomas of myJambi.com, a new Web site that was briefly mentioned in New York magazine this week for the service it offers. myJambi is a new platform that connects buyers and sellers of services and lets networks of friends share their recommendations about whom to do business with.
