Shake Shack Tech Gathering
Charlie O’Donnell, Nate Westheimer, David Rose and a bunch of other New York financiers and entrepreneurs (some would-be) and community folks, including Sanford Dickert, gathered for Shake Shack burgers, hotdogs and fries this evening at Madison Square Park. Little cups of beer, lots and lots of business cards, and more glad-handing than we could count. (Thanks to Webware.com’s Rafe Needleman, here from CNET’s San Francisco HQ, for escorting us in.)
Some of the others we met include Magnify.net’s Steven Rosenbaum, Ron Matana, who’s very excited to be, after six months, launching a new venture in a couple weeks (hope he gives us details), Jen Pierce of Virosity, and Michelle DeForest of NextNewNetworks. We also, second time in two days, bumped into Allen Stern of CenterNetworks, who promises to tell us how New York is treating him, after he moved here from Atlanta to do his work covering venture-tech.
Rose’s AngelSoft was among those who had booths giving away various tchotchkes. Rose said less than 2% of the 2,500 plans that get on Angelsoft each month get funded. Of that 1.something percent, only 1 of 10 will make it.
