Cablevision Completes Initial Wi-Fi Rollout

The company's Optimum customers will be able to access the Internet using the wi-fi network in parts of Nassau and Suffolk, including commuter rail platforms and station parking lots, beginning this Thursday.

The service won't be available to non-Optimum customers- not even on a pay-as-you-go basis.  Cablevision expects the service to enhance its offering to existing customers and perhaps attract new ones.  Eventually, the network will be extended to cover the entire tri-state region.
