Verizon Receives NYC Cable License
The New York State Public Service Commission approved Verizon's application to sell its FiOS cable television service today. Verizon plans to formally launch the service in the "coming weeks" while it takes orders in select launch neighborhoods.
The Insider points out that Verizon will still have to build out its fiber-optic network into thousands of NYC apartment buildings, a process expected to take a while.
