NJ County Clerk Issues Voter Registration Site Warning
Carl W. Block, Ocean County Clerk, issued the public warning Monday about a for-profit Internet Web site that charges $9.95 to register new voters. Block described the Web site as deceptive, noting registration through government agencies is free.
Block has asked NJ State Attorney General Anne Milgram and Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells to join his effort to warn voters about the Web site. Susan Evans, a spokeswoman for the Attorney General's office, added that state residents can download voter registration forms for free at njelections.org and that what iwanttovote.com is doing is not technically illegal, just unnecessary.
